The Regional and Local Road Connectivity project marks an important step for citizens. It foresees a growth in agricultural and tourism activities by improving access to selected areas, as well as strengthening the capacity of municipalities to manage their road assets.

The project cost is 50 million USD and is funded by World Bank and Albanian Government. It consists of three main components:

1. Civil works and road safety initiatives
2. Capacity building for LGUs
3. Management during implementation

These components aim to:

1. Improve access, through the rehabilitation of regional and local roads, within the existing trace, in selected municipalities;
2. Improve elements of climate change sustainability;
3. Increase road safety and placement of additional elements such as sidewalks, bike lanes, greenery, etc.;
4. Strengthening Municipalities’ capacities to manage and maintain their road assets;
5. Maintenance of geographic information system (GIS) and priority database for regional and local roads;
