8 awarded projects in the frame of the Grant Scheme in Support to the Earthquake Affected Areas
The Albanian Development Fund in cooperation with the Regional Development Program has successfully completed the evaluation and announcement of 8 winning projects which are funded by the Swiss and Austrian Governments.
The call for applications for the Grant Scheme in Support of Earthquake Affected Areas was announced on July 20 and targeted 11 Municipalities (Durres, Vora, Shijak, Tirana, Kamza, Kurbin, Kruja, Lezha, Kavaja, Rrogozhina, Mirdita), considered as the most affected areas by the earthquake of November 26, 2019.
Thanks to the continuous support for capacity building of potential applicants, 11 Municipalities participated with the submission of a total of 13 project proposals.
After a detailed evaluation of the proposals, 8 projects with the highest scores were selected to be funded under this scheme with a total amount of 253,119,707 ALL (excluding VAT).
The projects aim to improve the lives of citizens through interventions in community, cultural, educational, economic and tourism infrastructure.
The Albanian Development Fund, in the capacity of the Delegated Entity in the framework of Grant Scheme in support of the earthquake affected areas, will continue to manage and monitor projects in cooperation with the winning Municipalities and the Regional Development Program.
On 27 November 2020, 8 grant contracts with a total amount of 253, 119,707 ALL (excluding VAT) were signed by the Regional Development Program and the winning Municipalities.
