Tradition, culture and photography in the modest city of Erseka!

Erseka is a town in the district of Kolonja - Korca district. The city is located in the southeast of Albania located on Kolonja Plateau opposite Gramoz Mountain.

It is one of the 8 administrative units of Kolonja municipality, which also consists of: Qender Erseka, Leksovik, Qender Leksovik, Novosela, Barmash, Mollas and Clirim.

Locals preserve the tradition of welcoming visitors in their guesthouses and the typical food of the area, thus give an experience of a well-preserved culture in time.

I know that recently you were in Korça or Shkodra, but next weekend consider going to Erseka. You will find fresh air, parks and pedestrians for families, and museums that fanatically preserve prominent Albanian figures, as well as many other honorable figures distinguished in different fields (art, culture, etc) such as: Petro Nini Luarasi, Papa Kristo Negovani , Sevasti Qiriazi, Parashqevi Qiriazi, Jani Vreto, etc.

There you will find the photography lab of Dhimitër Vangjeli, which enriches the identity and history of Albanian photography. The passion that traveled throughout the villages of Kolonja documenting moments and perpetuating early realities nowadays.

The Albanian Development Fund is in the process of improving the infrastructure in this city.

The treated area lies at the entrance of the town of Erseka in its northern part and is bounded on the north by the inter-city transport agency and on the south by block no. 3.

The focus is also on revitalizing “Rinia” Park, creating recreational and entertainment spaces and adding green spaces to the city; reconstruction of three streets "Fan Noli", "Mehmet Pepi", "Ahmet Bektashi" that border the park and block.

The investment also foresees sidewalk construction, street lighting, facade rehabilitation and plastering, roof construction of four collective dwellings, construction of parking lots in the open spaces between the dwellings.

In total the project implemented by the Albanian Development Fund foresees:
✅Rivitalization of 20.000 m² urban area,
✅Road and pavement works,
✅Rehabilitation of facades and roof construction for 4 buildings,
✅Revitalization of “Rinia” Park and construction of parking lots.
