Tirana- On January 21st, in the premises of the Albanian Development Fund, was held a meeting on the project of “Integrated Urban Regeneration” focusing on the city of Permet.

The purpose of which was to discuss and consult detailed technical solutions for project investments to be financed in the municipality of Permet, with the presence of representatives of the municipality, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.

The Albanian Development Fund as the implementing agency of the investment in cooperation with Permet municipality and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, has conducted a series of consultations, initially with local technical operators and with the public at each stage of the consultancy.

The latter aim at investing in improving the urban infrastructure of the city; (already amortized- roads, public spaces, greenery, urban furniture, information infrastructure, etc.)

Financed by the World Bank, "Integrated Urban Regeneration" is being developed in the framework of the program "Integrated Urban and Tourism Development - PIUTD" which will include the following project investments:

  • Urban Regeneration of the Historic Center,
  • Channel Slope Rehabilitation-Perroi i Bradhe
  • Rehabilitation of public spaces, extension of the boulevard and central roads in the city,
  • Tourism Signage and Interpretation.

By offering and promoting new opportunities for the development of local economy, through improved presentation and access, to the area's tourist attractions for domestic and foreign visitors.

The same project is planned to be developed in the city of Berat.
