TIRANA- This area is rich in history and culture. Part of the history is the Bazaar Mosque in Gjirokastra which dates back to 1754.
This religious object has welcomed believers for 265 years from all over the country. During the communist regime, the building was used as a warehouse and as a training hall for circus acrobats.
The Mosque was re-opened again for the public in 1991.
The roof of the main dome is covered with stones and the architecture fits with shops nearby.
The Bazaar Mosque is part of the ensemble of characteristic buildings in the Bazaar.

After the project for the interventions on the façades of the buildings by the AADF, the next intervention in this city was in the framework of the program "Integrated Urban and Tourism Development" funded by the Albanian government and the World Bank and implemented by the Albanian Development Fund.
The project for “Rehabilitation of Qafa e Pazarit Quarter” involves engineering work on underground infrastructure and cobblestone reconstruction. The ADF is working closely with the Institute of Cultural Monuments to realize the restoration of cobblestone. The Institute of Cultural Monuments has evaluated and approved the technical project.
