TIRANE- Construction works completed in the pomp station and water depot 50m3 for the water supply in “Baba Rexhepi” and “Lugu i Dardhes” in Saranda. The investment includes also the construction of the electrical network TU and TM for the supply of the water depot 2000 m³.Works for the electricity connection and the operation of the pump are ongoing and will be followed by a test to ensure that everything works properly.

The project funded by the Albanian government is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund in the framework of the program ‘Priority Investment with Tourism Impact’.

 

There are about 17,000 residents in “Baba Rexhepi” and “Lugu I Dardhes” in Saranda which will have running water according to the best chemical and physic-bacteriological parameters.

The project aims to increase the amount of water, duration of supply hours up to 20-24 hours, minimization of water loss within the distribution system by up to 20%.

The project is expected to have a positive impact on improving water supply, public health, and the economy of the area. The improved water supply service provides necessary hygienic conditions, improved tourism services given the fact that Saranda is one of the most frequented cities, especially during the summer season.
