TIRANA-The final project is ready for the new water supply schemes in Dukat, Tragjas and Radhime, in Orikum, Vlora.The

The Albanian Development Fund organized last week a public meeting with 35 representatives of the project beneficiary villages and representatives of the local government and Water Supply and Sewerage Company in Vlora. Participants got insight details about the project.

More than 6, 000 people will benefit from the new water supply scheme. It will be constructed in the framework of the Rural Water Supply Program IIIimplemented by the Albanian Development Fund and funded by the Albanian government and German government through KfW.

 

 

Lack of running water in Dukat, Tragjas and in the tourist area of Radhima is particularly evident during summer.

Works are scheduled to begin in February 2019 and will last 12 months.

The local structures involved in the project implementation guaranteed they will fulfill all the relevant obligations so that project implementation will proceed as planned.

More than 80% of the population will be connected to the new schemes that will supply them 24/7 with hygienically clean water with proper pressure. As soon as the new water scheme becomes operational the Water Supply and Sewerage Company Vlore will be authority responsible for its management and maintenance.
