The Center of Tourism and Development in Korca, the former old maternity building in the city center, is towards the transformation process, being reconceptualized in accordance with the requirements of the time. The building has been completely abandoned but also it was depreciated and degraded as well as its structure was damaged, presenting a considerable danger to the residents. Under this situation, the renovation of the building became necessary for safety reasons and it intends to improve the performance of the facility while create the right conditions for its development and operation.

Korça plays a key role for the development of tourism in the south-east of the country, where over the years there is identified increasing demand for services to tourists and residents. While the building transformed into a multifunctional center, it can provide services such as tour operators, hotels, bars, restaurants, conference rooms, but also services for students, start-ups, internet, computers, workshops, etc.

Mr.Sotiraq Filo.

Mayor of Korca Municipality
"We have an increasing number of visitors who choose Korca as a destination and I believe that the ADF investment will not only be an added new asset to the tourist infrastructure but also it will serve to qualify staff for the tourism sector as well as it will go beyond it",
The Albanian Development Fund (ADF) supported by the Government of Albania intends to create a new concept for the operation of the building, which will not only offer a series of services but also it will be an impetus and turn it into an object which will be self-managed and well-integrated with the programs and investments of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Union. The building is conceived as a multifunctional center between public-private partnership. The ADF as the operational center will supervise its function and maintain provision of services of the building in order to comply with a number of upcoming projects for this region.
