The area of Dibra Spas is a touristic attraction in this local unit. According to specialists of the field, it is among the best areas on the Balkans and the ranking is based on water chemical characteristics and also on the fact that it welcomes approximately 125 thousand visitors per year.

In this context, Albanian Development Fund in cooperation with Dibra Municipality as well as in accordance with continuous requests of inhabitants, and also its significant impacts due to considerable number of visitors is implementing the project “Systemization of the 'Perroi i Llixhave', 'Ura e Pazarit – Llixha' and Urban Requalification of the Area"".

Funding by the Albanian Government, the intervention is focused in three aspects as followed;

  1. Systematization of the Spa stream
  2. Construction of the promenade along the stream
  3. Construction of recreational facilities along the promenade

The project intends to improve public infrastructure in line with all contemporary standards and highlights its considerable touristic potentials.

We would like to underline that the intervention also consist on an aesthetic project, with increased care in the selection of building materials, in order to adapt with areas’ identity values and preserve the functionality of this protected area.

The main natural resource of Dibra is Peshkopia’s Spas, which is characterized for its curative peculiarities and it is already turned into a destination for curative tourism. The thermal springs of the Spas of Peshkopia are used at full capacity.

In the following of the project and taking into account its considerable number of visitors, the intervention can be appraised an aid to personal initiatives, where ca be included presentation of local products in the market as well as development of agro-tourism initiatives.
