Construction of wastewater treatment plant for "Neighborhood of Sotallare", Divjaka

In Divjaka, the main economic activity is agriculture and to a considerable extent takes place fishing, which shows a high perspective for the development of maritime tourism and ecotourism in the Karavasta lagoon. Visitors are mostly daily tourists and the cuisine is focused on fish products, for which the area is famous all over the country.

Earlier, the area in focus at Sotallare’s neighborhood has undergone to complete rehabilitation process, a project which implemented by the Albanian Development Fund; where not only it was asphalted but also it equipped with all urban elements such as signage or lighting in order to add another asset in area and provide decent living conditions. While a cleaner ecologically environment is ensured and more and more tourists visit the area, it figured out that a wastewater treatment plant needed. Currently, there is no wastewater treatment plant in the Municipality of Divjaka, which causes pollution of the environment around this area. For this reason, the ITUN’s construction prioritized and as well as its location takes in consideration to avoid impact on private property and existing dwellings, trees, fences, drainage etc.

The Biological Reactor Unit is responsible for the technology, which is going to be used for wastewater treatment. The Biological Reactor is defined as a compact wastewater treatment unit. It has high efficiency with advanced technology and also is more economical, which provides wastewater. The realization of project considers its limit values allowed in the discharge of water and it is realized in accordance with the laws and regulations of our country and those of the Union European.

Reactor treatment will go through the filling, reaction, precipitation and discharge phases. The technical room will be built on a quota of 0.0 and is foresees a reinforced concrete structure with a base, columns and beams, plastered brick walls inside and outside, covered with reinforced concrete soles.
