The city of Saranda reflects a natural amphitheatre on its own as it has a wide range in the Ionian Sea. There are also important tourist attractions very close to the city such as the Castle of Lekures, the Blue Eye, the Ancient City of Butrint etc. As an important tourist city located in the south of the country, which has about 800 thousand visitors per year *, the realization of one of the main segments such as Road no.1 in Lekures facilitates movement and arranges better vehicles’ traffic, bringing it closer to visitors.

The segment is partly built on the existing trail, starting at the entrance of the city and ending on the road leading to Ksamil. The urban road is being built on basis of all necessary contemporary parameters, including sidewalks on both sides, lighting, greenery, vertical and horizontal signage elements, which increase road safety. The complete rehabilitation of the underground infrastructure is also part of its improved parameters.

The Albanian Development Fund with the support of the Albanian Government through the realization of this new tourist axis reduces travel time, and resolves traffic jam in the city especially during the summer time. The construction of this important work is in continuation of a number of other investments in the city, with emphasis not only on the development of the area (we would like to bring to your attention the newly completed promenade, which you can visit by walking at the end of the road) por edhe必利勁

The investment offers great opportunities for the expansion of the tourist offer but also provides security for the vehicles, which will be moving in the city of Saranda towards touristic sites such as Ksamil, Butrint and beyond.

The intervention is also an added value for the area, as previously buildings along the coast line were considered peripheral and inaccessible. Due to its location, travelers can enjoy impressive panorama of the Saranda bay and rest on several stops (panoramic balconies) as well as they can take nice pictures.
