Ballsh city is located in the District of Mallakastra, which has a very favourable geographical position, in the southwest of the country and only 40 km away from the Adriatic Sea. The area stands out for its rich historical heritage, which includes ruins of ancient civilization such as the ancient cities of Bylis and Nikaia, the Basilica of Ballsh, etc.

The Albanian Development Fund is completing the urban requalification in the city center, a project which intends to influence further development of the area and improve the quality of life. This intervention aims to highlight the high potential and values of the area, affecting positively on the environment.

With the radical rehabilitation of the city center, the city boulevard is systemized and also the road branching is arranged, which connects it with the national road. In this way, the traffic is eased so the area become more functional and it takes a more contemporary dimension in accordance with the needs and requirements of the inhabitants.

Dhe jo vetëm, rikonstruksioni i degëzimit që lidh bulevardin me rrugën nacionale shkurton kohën e lëvizjes dhe ndërlidh zonën, pasi Ballshi është një nga qendrat më të mëdha për nxjerrjen e naftës dhe përpunimin e saj në Shqipëri, duke bërë të mundur zhvillimin e tregëtisë.

Realizimi i këtij projekti unifikon hapësirën dhe rrit në tërësi vlerat e saj. Gjithashtu ndërhyrja parashikon zonë pedonale, hapësirë për argëtim, qëndrim dhe aktivitete çlodhëse për banorët, mobilim urban, ndriçim, gjerbërim, trajtimi i fasadave, korsi biçikletash etj.
