Tirana- The axis “Mesi Bridge- Drishti Castle” 6 km connects together two cultural monuments, symbols of ancient civilization. From 1768 the Messi Bridge is considered the longest bridge in Albania. It spans over Kir River and connects Drisht with Shkodra.The following is connected with Drishti Castle. The intervention foresees the complete reconstruction of the Axis "Mesi Bridge- Drishti Castle", as well as the installation of protective elements and the expansion of two bridges across the entire segment. The project is funded by the Albanian government.

The project is part of the program "Regional Local Infrastructure" and aims at enhancing economic development for local residents. Thus increasing opportunities for investment in agriculture and tourism services. The unique architecture of 13 non-symmetrical arches serves as a tourist attraction, from where visitors begin hiking to the Drishti Castle. The mobility drives development of local businesses and employment. For locals, this is translated into improvement of economy and increased quality of life. The project is one of the priorities of Shkodra municipality and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
