Tirana-"“In this world if a man is righteous is brave”-Petro Marko” – Petro Marko

The well-known writer, Petro Marko, was born in Dhermi. The main square of the village bears his name.

The square where is located Petro Marko’s bust has been restored recently in the framework of the project “Urban Requalification of Vuno and Dhermi village”. This project is financed by the Albanian government and the Council of Europe Development Bank and is implemented by the Albanian Development Fund.

 

In the framework of this project have been restored squares, facades, roofs of the houses as well as the cobblestone of Dhermi village. The investment aims to transform the village into the next destination for tourists who love history and cultural heritage as well as diversify the southern coast's tourist offers.
