Innovative products in tourism, challenges and solutions from success models
The Albanian Development Fund is conducting an information campaign in the framework of InnoXenia project, focusing on "Innovation and its role in the development of tourism".
Tourists’ demands and behaviors are constantly changing. In order to cope with these changes, the Albanian Development Fund, through the implementation of InnoXenia project, aims to improve abilities of businesses and local and regional public institutions to put innovative products, processes and services to use, in order to enrich the natural and cultural tourism offer.
In order to promote dialogue and interaction among stakeholders involved in tourism sector were organized several meetings in the form of a coffee work "Work Café". The meeting took place in Permet.
Consortium Pro Permet and the museum house of Mr. Kristaq Cullufe are some of the successful models of innovations in terms of tourist products. The initiators of these models, participants from local authorities, business community, etc., shared ideas and solutions that can promote tourism in the area.
InnoXenia, entirely dedicated to innovation in Tourism in the Adriatic-Ionian region, is a project funded by the European Union through IPA funds. The Albanian Development Fund is the representative institution for Albania. Other participant countries in this project are Greece, Italy, Albania, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the framework of this project is being established the International Network of Tourism Actors, which is being developed and strengthened day by day through the Tourism Actors Convention.
This meeting aims the promotion of tourism destinations of our country. The museum house of Mr. Kristaq Cullufe aroused the curiosity of the audience. After this were organized visits in two other tourism destinations in the Church of Saint Mary in Leuse and Kosina.
At the end of this activity all participants shared their suggestions for overcoming tourism issues, finding funding instruments, etc. All suggestions will be reflected in the Joint Strategic Agenda on Innovation in Tourism, which is being prepared in close cooperation between all the countries active in this project.
